Head Coach of the Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei, and central defender Aaron Essel have expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaian fans in Egypt and back home for their unwavering support during Ghana's campaign at the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2025.

Since the start of the tournament, Ghanaian fans based in Egypt have turned out in impressive numbers at each of the three group stage matches played by Ghana in Group C. Their presence has been impossible to miss—colourful, vibrant, and passionate, making them one of the most visible and energetic supporter groups at the tournament.

“This is a youth tournament, yet the level of support we’ve seen is incredible,” Coach Ofei remarked. “To have Ghanaian fans create such an atmosphere so far away from home is something truly special. It’s meant a lot to the boys, and it’s kept our spirits high.”

Aaron Essel, a stalwart in Ghana’s defence, echoed the sentiment. “The fans have been our twelfth man. Whether it’s the cheers from the stands in Egypt or the overwhelming support from those watching back home, we feel it. We hear it. And it drives us.”

The duo also extended their appreciation to fans in Ghana, who have followed the team’s journey with great interest and enthusiasm. Media reports and messages from supporters have reached the camp, amplifying the belief that the entire nation stands behind the Black Satellites as they gear up for their crucial quarter-final clash against the host nation, Egypt.

“The love and energy from Ghanaians, both here and at home, gives us more reason to fight for every ball, for every win,” Coach Ofei added. “We promise to continue giving our all to defend the flag and make Ghana proud.”

Ghanaian fans are hopeful that the Black Satellites will shine even brighter in the quarter-final match scheduled for Monday, May 12, at the new Suez Stadium at 6:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT). A win would not only earn Ghana a spot in the semi-finals but also secure qualification to the U-20 FIFA World Cup in Chile later this year.

The message from the team is clear: "Thank you, Ghana. Please keep believing. We’re not done yet."
