CAF President, Jerome Champagne Congratulate Nyantakyi On Re-Election

The African football fraternity, led by CAF President, Issah Hayatou, has sent congratulatory messages to Kwesi Nyantakyi on his re election as President of the Ghana Football Association.

Former FIFA Deputy General Secretary, Jerome Champagne and some heads of African football federations have also congratulated the GFA President.

Nyantakyi was last week re-elected for a third term in office after the GFA's Congress, in accordance with the Association's statutes, returned him unopposed as the only qualified candidate at the close of nominations.

Hayatou led the congratulatory messages from the leadership of African football to welcome Nyantakyi's re-election.

"On behalf of the CAF Executive Committee and the entire football family, I would like to warmly congratulate you for your re-election as President of the Ghana Football Association following elections held during your General Assembly on August 18th 2015 in Tamale," Hayatou wrote in a letter to Nyantakyi.

"We would like to wish you good luck for your tenure, hoping you will achieve maximum success, while ensuring that we will maintain the exemplary relationship between CAF and GFA."

"We are convinced that your knowledge, experience and leadership will allow your federation and its Executive Committee to move forward and take football in Ghanaian football to further heights of professionalism and performance," Hayatou added in his letter.

Jerome Champagne praised Nyantakyi for his "brilliant record" and hoped that he will further imrove it Ghana Football.

"With such a brilliant record, 3 WC (World Cups) apearances in a row out of 3 possible, 6 Afcon in a row with 5 finishing in the last 4, a world U-20, I form the wishes that you will improve even more the situation of Ghanaian football," Champagne wrote in his letter.

Presidents of some African football associations and other international football organizations have also sent messages of congratulations to the GFA President.

The heads of Algeria, Uganda and Congo Football Federations have all wished Nyantakyi well on his re-election.

FIFA Development Officer for West Africa, Jerome Champagne and Head of SuperSport Africa Andre Venter have also congratulated Nyantakyi on his re-election.
