The Black Starlets have departed for Ivory Coast to engage the Young Elephants in a pair of international friendlies as part of their final preparations for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team left the shores of Ghana at 13:30 GMT on Sunday with a 40-man contingent comprising 25 players and 15 technical and management staff, all focused on fine-tuning their readiness ahead of the continental showpiece.

The two matches will be played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, with the first fixture scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, before the second encounter takes place on Friday, May 1.

The friendlies are expected to provide a valuable test for the Starlets against a strong Ivorian side, offering the technical team the opportunity to assess player combinations, tactical discipline and overall match fitness under competitive conditions.

The Black Starlets head into the games with growing confidence following a series of preparatory matches and will be aiming to build momentum as they gear up for the AFCON tournament.

With a demanding group-stage assignment awaiting them, the technical team will be keen to use the double-header to sharpen the squad and ensure the players are fully prepared for the challenges ahead on the continental stage.
