Black Maidens ready for hostile Cote d'Ivoire clash – Coach Adarkwa targets winning finish

Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has acknowledged the challenge awaiting his side in their final WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup match against Cote d'Ivoire, but insists the team is focused solely on victory.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's 2pm kickoff, Adarkwa admitted the hosts will have a psychological advantage with their home supporters behind them.

"Cote d'Ivoire are a very good side and very strong physically," he said. "We know they are playing at home with their supporters, so we will map our strategy to beat them and take the three points."

With the tournament's outcome potentially depending on other results, the coach emphasised the need for a win to maintain their position.

"We don't know what will happen to Nigeria, so we have to win and move forward," Adarkwa stated. "We are here for a win, nothing else. We will match them boot for boot."

The coach also expressed gratitude to WAFU for organising the tournament, noting its value as preparation for the team.

"We are happy to be here. Without this tournament, we wouldn't have had such good preparation," he added. "Thank you to WAFU for this wonderful tournament."
