The Football Association has successfully conducted the draw for the 2026 MTN Elite Under-19 Championship, setting the stage for another exciting edition of one of the country's premier youth football competitions.
Held at the GFA headquarters in Accra on Friday, August 7, the draw placed the 10 Regional Football Association (RFA) Under-19 teams into two groups of five ahead of the tournament, which will run from August 24 to September 4, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Defending champions Eastern Region headline Group A, where they will begin their title defence against Volta Region, Ashanti Region, Western Region and Upper West Region in what promises to be a fiercely competitive group.
The 11-day championship will bring together some of Ghana's most promising young footballers, providing them with a valuable platform to showcase their talents, enhance their technical development, and attract the attention of national youth team selectors and professional clubs.
Sponsored by MTN Ghana, the Elite U-19 Championship has become a key pillar of the GFA's youth development strategy, reflecting the Association's commitment to identifying and nurturing the country's next generation of football stars.
As part of the GFA's "Power to the Youth" agenda, the MTN Elite U-19 Championship continues to reinforce the Association's long-term vision of building a sustainable future for Ghanaian football through investment in youth development.
Following the successful draw for the MTN Elite U-19 Championship, attention now shifts to the Inter-Regional Division Two Championship, with preparations gathering momentum under the leadership of Hon. Eric Edem Agbana and his team as they gear up for another exciting chapter in Ghana's football development calendar.
The draw ceremony was attended by Executive Council member and Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman, Samuel Aboabire, Upper West Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Daudi Sadugu Yahaya, the GFA's Head of Strategy and Public Relations, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe and Acting Director of Competitions, Maxwell Caesar Kemeh.
