Zone Three leaders Hohoe United win on the road, Port City FC keep hopes alive

Hohoe United took another huge step towards maintaining their position atop the Zone Three table, beating Koforidua Semper Fi 2-1 at the Koforidua Sports Stadium on Sunday. William Oduro opened the scoring for Hohoe United with a wonder strike from inside the penalty area in the 4th minute, while Usman Safianu made it 2-0 three minutes later. Ebenezer Kobia pulled one back for the home side in the 41st minute. After an entertaining second half, both sides failed to score as the game ended 2-1 in favor of Hohoe United who sit at the top of the table in Zone Three with 60 points – three points ahead of second placed Port City FC.

In Kukurantumi, the ever improving Port City FC claimed a fourth successive victory without conceding a goal, defeating regional rivals Okwawu United 1-0 on Sunday. Port City FC's ace Bernard Quarcoo scored the match-winner from a spot kick in the 51st minute as they sit just three points (57) behind leaders Hohoe United (60).

Meanwhile MTN FA Cup semifinalists, Golden Kick SC ended their two-game losing streak with a clinical 5-0 mauling of relegation-threatened Kings Palace FC at the Tuba Astro Turf on Saturday. Joshua Fuseini opened the scoring for Golden Kick SC with a brilliant finish in the 26th minute, followed by Adomba Kofi Aninagyei's 29th-minute header. Bless Ege made it 3-0 from the spot before substitute Danlad Nuhu hit a brace in the 63rd and 76th minutes for the home side. Golden Kick have secured 34 points from 26 matches and are currently the second-highest scoring side in Zone Three.
