AshantiGold are eliminated from the Caf Confederation's Cup as they fall short of the required goals needed to progress beyond the round of 16.

The Miners failed to overturn the 3-0 first leg deficit as they could only manage a 2-1 home win against Tunisian side, Etoile du Sahel on Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium.

AshantiGold, thus exit the competition after a 4-2 aggregate scoreline after both legs.

On a day when they were expected to romp in the goals, it was rather the visitors who jumped into the lead after 58 minutes when Ahmed Chehoudi scored the opener for Etoile.

Theophilus Anobah drew AshantiGold level nine minutes later.

In the 74th minute, Anobah beat the offside trap to score the second goal but it was little too late to turn things around for the Miners.
