Vice President Mark Addo has applauded the Black Princesses for their historic qualification to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

He reiterated the commitment of Government and the Football Association to support the team as they prepare to make their mark on the world stage.

“What this team has achieved is no small feat. When the odds were against you — a goal down and a player sent off — your resilience and hard work delivered the result that secured World Cup qualification,” he said.

“This team has done remarkably well by qualifying for eight consecutive World Cups. Now is the time to go and perform, and to go beyond the group stage.”

“Take time to enjoy this moment for a few days, but the real work begins now ahead of September when the World Cup starts.”

“On behalf of President Kurt E.S. Okraku, the Executive Council, and the entire nation, we are proud of you. Congratulations on this historic achievement.”

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5–27, 2026.
