Qualification for the premiership goes down to the wire as match-day-2 records a win and a draw at the two match centres with Zaytuna FC jumping to the summit of the four-team table.

Zaytuna FC posted a 1-0 win over Fairpoint at the Legon Park on Thursday to brighten their chances of picking the sole ticket for the elite league from the division one middle league.

Fairpoint were made to pay for their poor ability to finish off their opponents after enjoying most of the games possession.

However, Zaytuna, did what mattered most, by finding the back of the net in the 29th minute through striker, Frank Boateng.

Stephen Tetteh could have handed Fairpoint a deserving point with three minutes of play remaining to end the first half, but the he fumbled in front goal as he saw his strike miss target.

In the other game at the El-Wak stadium, Kade Hotspurs spurned their chance of recording their first win the promotional campaign as they yet again shared the spoils with Seven United.

After scoring the opener in the first half, Hotspurs managed to hold onto their solitary goal but with some 15 minutes to end the game, Seven United denied the former premiership campaigners victory as they drew level.

Hotspurs are now third on the table with two points, a point separating them with second-placed, Fairpoint who have three points to their credit.

Seven United remain at the bottom with just a point. The final round of matches is on Saturday.
