Vision FC climbed out of the relegation zone after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nations FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Saturday, thanks to a decisive first-half strike from teenager Setsofia Aqetey.
Aqetey announced himself in style, opening his Vision FC goal account with a composed finish deep into first-half stoppage time. The goal proved decisive, sealing a much-needed win for the Tema-based side and sparking celebrations among the home faithful.
The victory brought an end to Vision FC’s seven-match winless run and lifted them to 12th place on the Premier League table with 18 points, moving them out of the relegation zone and to within one point of their opponents.
Despite a spirited performance, Frimpong Manso’s men were unable to break their away hoodoo and remain winless on their travels this season. The result leaves them 10th in the standings, and they will be eager to respond when they host Karela United in their next fixture.
Vision FC, buoyed by this confidence-boosting result, will now turn their attention to a daunting test away to high-flying Aduana Stars, as they look to build momentum and further distance themselves from the danger zone.
