Accra Hearts of Oak maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign after a hard-fought goalless draw at Bechem United at on Friday.

The Phobians extended their unbeaten run to four matches, while the Hunters’ frustrating search for a first victory of the campaign stretched to four games without a win.

Bechem United looked the more enterprising side in attack at the the Nana Gyeabour Park, edging possession with 52 percent and creating the clearer openings. Augustine Okrah orchestrated play from midfield, while Kofi Tompuo’s direct running consistently troubled the Hearts backline. However, their efforts were undone by poor finishing, with goalkeeper Benjamin Asare pulling off three crucial saves to keep the visitors level.

Hearts, by contrast, started brightly and controlled large spells of the first half but struggled to fashion real scoring opportunities. Despite registering seven attempts at goal, only two tested the Bechem goalkeeper. The hosts matched that tally of seven shots, with three on target, making them the more threatening side in the final third.

Set pieces further highlighted Bechem’s attacking intent as they forced six corners compared to none for Hearts. Both sides displayed physical commitment, with Bechem picking up two yellow cards and Hearts one in an otherwise disciplined contest.

The draw extends Hearts' run of four consecutive clean sheets this season under coach Didi Dramani, reflecting a well-drilled and organised defensive unit.

Bechem United, meanwhile, will take heart from their competitive display but remain frustrated as their wait for a maiden victory this season continues.
