Bibiani Gold Stars surged to the top of the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vision FC, capitalizing on Medeama SC’s slip to take control of the title race with eight matches remaining.

Michael Nkoah’s decisive second-half strike at Dun’s Park sealed a crucial win for the defending champions, extending their formidable home form and lifting them to 48 points, two clear of Medeama.

Vision FC, despite seeing their impressive run come to an end, showed resilience but could not break down a disciplined Gold Stars defence.

Medeama’s title grip loosened further after a 2-1 defeat to Dreams FC at the Tuba AstroTurf. Goals from Adams Aminu and Abdul Razak Salifu handed the hosts a vital win, while Kelvin Nkrumah’s response proved insufficient.

Once eight points clear at the top, Medeama now face mounting pressure as they drop to second with 46 points.

Asante Kotoko reignited their campaign with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Nations FC in Kumasi.

Albert Amoah’s opener, followed by late penalties from Samba O’Neil and Morifing Donzo, lifted the Porcupine Warriors into third place and back into contention, six points off the summit.

Elsewhere, Bechem United boosted their survival hopes with a spirited 2-1 derby win over Aduana FC, moving closer to safety while denting Aduana’s title ambitions.

Berekum Chelsea also strengthened their fight against relegation with an impressive 2-0 victory over in-form Karela United, ending their winless run in style.

Basake Holy Stars continued their formidable home run with a narrow but crucial 1-0 victory over Young Apostles at the AAK II Sports Arena.

Francis Oteng Gyatuah’s early strike in the 19th minute proved decisive, sealing a ninth consecutive home win for the hosts, who once again showcased discipline and composure to protect their lead in a tightly contested encounter.

The result lifts Holy Stars to eighth place with 36 points, strengthening their upward push on the league table as their home ground remains a fortress.

For Young Apostles, the defeat carries heavier consequences, as they drop into the relegation zone. They will now look to regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture, while Holy Stars shift focus to building on their momentum in the games ahead.

At the bottom, Swedru All Blacks climbed out of the relegation zone courtesy of a narrow 1-0 win over Hohoe United, with Rudolf Mensah’s first-half strike proving decisive. The result sees Hohoe slip into the drop zone, intensifying the battle for survival.
