The Premier League Board(PLB) wishes to confirm to the sporting public that the second round of the First Capital Plus Premier League resumes this weekend except the Hearts of Oak/Ashantigold match which has been postponed to Wednesday, 10th June, 2015.

All things being equal, the Premier League is expected to end on Sunday, 13th September, 2015.

Upon a short review of the League, especially since the present Board assumed office, it is refreshing to note the following salient points which have enhanced the league.

v Prompt release of sponsorship funds from First Capital Plus Bank and Super Sports to clubs which is appreciated

v The performance of referees and match officials during the First round of the season which has been very encouraging

v Gradual implementation of the club licensing policy which has impacted positively on the technical and administrative structures of Premier League clubs

v Excellent media support that has improved on patronage eg. The Hearts of Oak/Great Olympics match and the impressive attendance at the stadium.

v Encouraging senior players to return to the Ghana Premier League

v Absence of violence and hooliganism at the various match venues.

v The quality of coverage of the League by Super Sports has also enhanced interest in the League

v The new face of the PLB has also helped foster good relationships amongst clubs as they are all represented on the Board

v Clubs have improved their cooperation with the Football Association.

v The PLB and its sponsors have also introduced the "coach and player of the month awards" where the awardees receive cash prizes from First Capital Plus Bank.

As the second round begins it is the hope of the Board that clubs, players, the media and the general public will help the GFA/PLB to ensure that the second round of the season will be more refreshing and exciting.
