Premier League: Aduana hold Medeama in Dormaa stalemate as ten-man Vision FC battle back to sink Eleven Wonders
Aduana FC and Medeama SC shared the spoils in a tightly contested goalless draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa on Saturday afternoon. The top-of-the-table clash delivered intensity and tactical intrigue but ultimately ended without a breakthrough.
The draw keeps Aduana FC at the summit of the Premier League with 19 points, while Medeama SC remain second, pending other results in Matchweek 9.
Aduana midfielder Siedu Saana came close to opening the scoring in the 17th minute with a powerful long-range effort, only for Medeama goalkeeper Felix Kyei to make a superb save.
The hosts’ attacking rhythm unsettled Medeama early on, but the visitors grew into the contest, displaying composure and tactical discipline.
Medeama nearly stole all three points late in the game, as a curling free kick struck the crossbar, much to the relief of the home supporters.
Both sides eventually settled for a point apiece in a hard-fought encounter between two title contenders. Aduana’s next assignment is a blockbuster clash with Asante Kotoko, while Medeama will travel to face Eleven Wonders.
The visitors made a dream start, taking the lead just two minutes in when Mathew Amponsah capitalised on a defensive lapse to slot home the opener. Vision, however, responded swiftly, Emmanuel Sanja equalised five minutes later after a well-crafted team move restored parity.
The game took a dramatic turn in the 28th minute when Kingsley Appiah was shown a second yellow card, reducing Vision to ten men for more than an hour.
The victory cements Vision FC’s reputation as one of the most formidable home sides in the league, while Eleven Wonders continue their search for a first win since returning to the top flight.
