Relegation-threatened Accra Lions will be hoping to keep their survival hopes alive when they welcome mid-table Aduana FC to the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday in a crunch Premier League encounter.

The Lions’ struggles have been evident throughout the season, with their defeat count reaching 14 after a narrow 1-0 loss to league leaders Nations FC in their previous outing. Currently sitting 16th with 32 points from 30 matches, Accra Lions remain in the relegation zone and will be desperate for a positive result to boost their chances of staying up.

However, there is a silver lining for Reiner Kraft’s side. The Lions have been a formidable force at home, enjoying a five-match unbeaten run (W4, D1). Their impressive home form offers renewed hope as they aim for an eighth home victory this season. Encouragingly, they have never lost at home to Aduana FC since their top-flight debut in 2021, making Saturday’s fixture a golden opportunity to further bolster their survival push.

In contrast, Aduana FC travel to the capital on the back of a morale-boosting win over Berekum Chelsea in the Bono derby. With 41 points accumulated, the two-time league champions are comfortably positioned in 10th place and will be eyeing back-to-back victories for the third time in 2025.

Despite being the eighth-best away side this season, Aduana’s recent form on the road has been disappointing, failing to score in four of their last five away games (W1, D1, L3).

In head-to-head meetings at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Lions have hosted Aduana FC three times since the 2021/22 season. The results favour the hosts, with one victory and two goalless draws
