Otto Addo watches Edmund Baidoo and Jonas Adjetey in Europa League

Black Stars coach; Otto Addo was at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg to watch the Europa League match between Red Bull Salzburg and FC Basel. The match featured two Ghanaian players: Edmund Baidoo from Red Bull Salzburg and Jonas Adjei Adjetey from FC Basel. While Jonas Adjetey played the entire match, Edmund Baidoo was substituted in the 90th minute by Karim Konate. Red Bull Salzburg won the match 3-1.

The former Borussia Dortmund player has been monitoring Ghanaian players over the past few weeks ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otto has already visited Spain to see Abdul Mumin and Kwasi Sibo. He has also checked in on Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Mohammed Salisu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Mohammed Kudus.

These visits and monitoring sessions aim to build team cohesion, foster solidarity, and instill a strong culture within the Black Stars as the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches.

Ghana will play Panama, England and Croatia in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled for Canada, Mexico and the United States of America in June.
