Nsuopon Fidelity beaten at home, FC AshantiGold 04 down Future Stars, Dwarfs record away victory in Zone Two
Zone Two’s second-placed side, Nsuopun Fidelity, saw their impressive four-game winning streak come to an abrupt end on Friday after a 2–1 defeat to Sefwi All Stars in Dorminase. Ebenezer Okrah opened the scoring for the visitors in the 10th minute, before Ebenezer Ahwoi doubled their advantage in the 64th minute. David Sam pulled one back for Nsuopun Fidelity in stoppage time, but it proved only a consolation as Sefwi All Stars claimed their first away victory of the season.
Zone Two leaders FC AshantiGold ’04 maintained their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 1–0 win over a spirited Future Stars FC side at the Len Clay Stadium. Edward Forbi Kontoh struck the decisive goal in the 73rd minute, sealing AshantiGold’s sixth win of the campaign. They now sit five points clear at the top with 20 points from eight matches.
Former Premier League side King Faisal finally ended their frustrating seven-game winless run (D2, L5) with a refreshing 2–0 home victory over fellow strugglers Sekondi XI Wise at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Late goals from Benjamin Bature (81') and Obed Abeka (85') sealed the win, though King Faisal remain in the relegation zone with five points.
