Premier League clubs would not be granted the choice of switching match venues after the opening day matches of the 2011/12 league season.

The Premier League Board today confirmed that no such permission would be approved once the season starts.

"The Premier League Board wishes to inform all clubs that it shall not entertain any application for a change of venue after the commencement of the League," the PLB said in a statement.

The new season kicks off on October 9, 2011 for 16 clubs in the top flight.
