The stage is set for a thrilling climax to the maiden edition of the MTN Elite U19 Championship as Eastern Region lock horns with Brong Ahafo in the grand finale at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Sunday.
Both teams head into the highly anticipated final on the back of impressive semi-final performances that underlined their quality and determination throughout the tournament.
Eastern Region edged Greater Accra in a dramatic penalty shootout after a pulsating 2-2 draw, while Brong Ahafo sealed their place with a 5-3 penalty triumph over Ashanti Region following a tense goalless stalemate.
Eastern Region, guided by head coach Godie Nana Mensah, topped Group A after overcoming stiff competition from Upper West, Western and Brong Ahafo, suffering their only defeat to Northern Region. They will, however, be cautious against complacency, having already beaten Brong Ahafo 1-0 in the group stage.
