Ghana fell to a 4-2 defeat against Iran on Thursday in an international friendly at Tehran's Azadi stadium.

Ghana parading the Olympic side dominated by locally-based players against Iran's senior side, the Team Melli struggled in the opening stages of the game as the host took a 3-0 lead before the 40th minute.

Enayati put Iran ahead after 11 minutes through a header as Nekounam doubled up the lead for the Team Melli through a spot kick in the 15th minute.

The Iranians made it 3-0 through Enayati on 27the minute mark.

However, four minutes later, Black Meteors captain, Bernard Yao Kumordzi pulled one back for Ghana in the 31st minute to end the half 3-1.

Back from recess, Samuel Addo got Ghana the second goal three minutes into the half before Iran made it 4-2 through a 50th minute strike by Aghili.

The Olympic team who stepped in for the Black Stars used the game as a build up for the up-coming 9th All Africa Games slated for Algiers next month.

Iran's Team Melli lined up for the game against Ghana as part of their preparations for next months Asian Cup Tournament to be jointly hosted in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
