A blockbuster semi-final clash awaits as two-time champions Medeama SC lock horns with former winners Dreams FC in the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

With both clubs boasting rich pedigree in Ghana’s most prestigious cup competition, this encounter promises intensity, quality and high drama as they chase a place in the grand finale.

Dreams FC’s run to the semi-finals has been nothing short of impressive. The 2022/23 champions have combined resilience with attacking flair throughout the campaign. Their journey began with a commanding victory over Semper Fi FC in the Round of 64, followed by a composed 2-0 triumph against Asanska FC in the next round.

They then delivered one of the competition’s most entertaining performances, defeating Inter Allies 4-2 in a pulsating six-goal thriller at the Tuba Astroturf.

In the quarter-finals, Dreams FC showcased their fighting spirit once again, battling back to secure a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Heart of Lions after a fiercely contested encounter at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Under head coach Winfred Dormon, Dreams FC have grown steadily in confidence and cohesion, with their eyes firmly set on reclaiming the title and earning a return to continental football via the CAF Confederation Cup.

Standing in their way is a determined Medeama SC side, equally hungry for silverware. The Mauve and Yellow began their campaign in emphatic fashion with a 4-1 victory over Rospak FC before overcoming regional rivals Bibiani Gold Stars 3-1 in the Round of 32.

Their path to the semi-finals has also tested their resolve. Medeama edged past FC Samartex 1996 on penalties after a goalless draw, before delivering a dominant performance against Attram De Visser Academy in the quarter-finals. Kelvin Nkrumah was the hero of the night, netting a sensational hat-trick in extra time to seal a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

The two sides will square off at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Saturday in a high-stakes encounter, with a coveted place in the MTN FA Cup final firmly at the forefront of their ambitions.

Both teams will approach the clash with determination and intensity, fully aware that victory not only secures progression but also brings them one step closer to silverware and continental qualification.
