Games will be played across League centres in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League this weekend as Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies and giants Hasaacas Ladies aim to continue their dominance in the League after winning their respective matches over the weekend. Ampem Darkoa Ladies recovered from their 1-1 draw against Northern Ladies to record a remarkable 2-0 win over Prisons Ladies while Hasaacas Ladies whitewashed Essiam Socrates 6-2 to stake a claim in their Zones. Here is what to expect on Matchday three of the 2022/23 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for the Northern Zone.

ASHTOWN LADIES’ VS CANDY SOCCERACADEMY

Ashtown Ladies will host Candy Soccer Academy on Matchday three of the League at the Bantama Astro Turf. The host recorded their first win in their last fixture against a resolute Supreme Ladies’ side but managed to escape with a one -nil win. On the other hand, Candy Soccer Academy triumphed 2-1 over Kumasi based Fabulous Ladies to get their season back on track after losing their match. Both teams have recorded one win each in the season but Ashtown Ladies are 4th in the League table with 4 points while Candy Soccer Academy are sit in 7th place with just 3 points.

SUPREME LADIES’ VS NORTHERN LADIES

Supreme Ladies will lock horns with Northern Ladies in search of a win to appease their teaming fans following last week’s setback against Ashtown Ladies in the Kumasi derby. Both teams survived relegation last season and are eager to be in the driving seat at the early stages of the season. Supreme Ladies have won one and lost one in two games whiles Northern Ladies have yet to record a win in the season as they have drawn one and lost one. Linda Owusu Ansah will headline the game for the home side after winning two MVPs on a row. Even though both sides will be coming into the game hoping to clinch the maximum points, the odds slightly tilt towards the home team.

SUPER LADIES’ VS PRISONS LADIES

Tamale Super Ladies FC aim to maintain their winning ways against Prison Ladies on match day 3 of the ongoing 2022/2023 Malta Guinness Women's Premier League on Monday. The debutants have bagged 4 points after 2 matches and sit on top of the log in the Northern Zone. Prison Ladies will be seeking for a win in other to put their campaign on course following a dreadful start. Coach Amadu Imoro is jostling to turn things around for his Prison Ladies FC after their home defeat to Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Matchday two.

PEARLPIA LADIES’ VS FABULOUS LADIES

Pearlpia Ladies will host Fabulous Ladies at the Aliu Mahama stadium on Friday. The "Pearls" will be looking to register their second win of the season at home after picking an impressive away win against Dreamz Ladies at the Bantama Astro Turf on Saturday. The team will be relying heavily on home support to overcome bottom club Fabulous Ladies. Fabulous Ladies come into the game brimming with confidence hoping they will be able to overcome the pressure in other to win their first game of the ongoing campaign with captain Princess Owusu being the fulcrum of the team. Coach Adam Tamimu who is standing for Baba Nuhu sees his side as the favourites going into the match due to the unparalleled record against the Kumasi based side.

AMPEM DARKOA VS DREAMZ LADIES

Two familiar foes are set to lock horns this weekend as Ampem Darkoa Ladies host Dreamz Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman. The “Nanamma” will get into this fixture fresh from the 2-0 win against Prisons Ladies in Sunyani while Dreamz Ladies go into the tie on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Pearlpia Ladies at home. Ampem Darkoa showed superiority last season when the two sides met. Stella Nyamekye and Sarah Nyarko will headline the game for the visitors while Comfort Yeboah and Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah look forward to prove crucial for the home side.
