Heart of Lions have overtaken Hearts of Oak to second-place in the Premier League standing after defeating the Phobians 2-1 in Accra.

The Phobians were undone at the Accra Stadium as the race for the CAF Champions League between both sides went the way of the visitors from Kpando.

It was a deserved lead for Hearts of Oak as Winful Cobbinah put the home team in front after 34 minutes.

But two minutes into injury time before the break, Kwadwo Poku curled in a freekick from the edge of the box to draw Lions level.

After recess, Prince Acquah gave the Kpando side the lead in the 78th minute as Hearts of Oak surrendered all the spoils.

The win leaves Lions 10-points adrift the top with six more games to go.

At the Gyamfi Park, New Edubiase defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-0 courtesy a 36th minute goal by Nuhu Alhassan.

Edubiase could have doubled their lead in the 86th minute but Asiedu Attobrah missed from the spot after the home side won a penalty.
