Liberty Professionals crushed Heart of Lions 5-1 at the Carl Reindorf Park on Saturday to push up the standings in the Glo Premier League.

A brace by Latif Salifu and a goal each from Francis Morton, Ebirama Kamara and Issah Yakubu sealed victory for coach J.E. Sarpong's side while Daniel Bonsu grabbed a consolation for Lions.

Latif opened the scoring after 11 minutes before Morton made it 2-0 with three minutes to end the first half.

Back from recess, it took Liberty nine minutes to score again through Kamara.

Lions pulled a goal back after Bonsu struck in the 62nd minute.

Latif was on hand again to make it 4-1, scoring his second goal in the game before Yakubu sealed the big win in the 85th minute.

This was the second time in the league that Liberty had scored five past an opponent. In the match-day-6 fixture of the first round, they defeated Bechem United 5-0.
