WAFA SC SUFFERS FIRST HOME DEFEAT THIS SEASON.

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) were beaten 1-2 at home by Liberty Professionals in the Match Day 6, of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at Red Bull Arena In Sogakope.

Goals from Kyei Baffour Elvis and Alhasan Mubarsah was enough to hand Liberty Professionals three points as WAFA failed to make home advantage count.

WAFA’s Konadu Yiadom brought down Kyei Baffour Elvis in the penalty box and the referee whistle for a penalty.

Baffour elected himself and beautifully put the ball at the back of the net in the 29th minute.

WAFA then came back strong but the defensemen of Liberty were resolute and denied WAFA an equalizer, heading to the end of the first half.

The academy boys took charge of the second half and got an equaliser through substitute Agyapong Samson in the 70th minutes.

In the 79th minutes, Alhasan Mubarsah put the visitors in front from a counter attack, after WAFA missed numerous chances from close range.

This is WAFA's first defeat in the 2019/ 2020 GPL season.

Ibrahim Abubakari of WAFA was Adjudged NASCO man of the match.
