A late spot-kick converted by Karim Abdul Jabila handed Legon Cities FC all the maximum points at home against traveling Elmina Sharks in their week 8 Ghana Premier League match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Referee Christopher Asante pointed to the spot after a judging Dennis Mensah to have handled a goal-bound shot in the box, an action that drew a lot of protestation from the Sharks players and technical bench.

Chasing their second victory of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League campaign, "The Royals" who missed glorious opportunities all afternoon had to wait till the 90th minute to find the net and grab their second win in eight games.

Sharks started the stronger of the two sides and could have taken the lead on the 14th-minute mark but Alhaji Mustapha with only goalkeeper Fatau Dauda at his mercy he failed to convert.

Eight minutes later goalkeeper Joseph Essam was called to duty to make a great save from a Francis Nuer Addo powerful drive from behind the box.

On 62 minutes Jabila provided a great cross from the left only for Benjamin Okine Daddida to head off target much to the disappointment of the handful of supports that watched the game.

Four minutes later the match-winner Jabila was presented with the best chance of the game but he also failed to connect home.

The win moves "The Royals" up the log to 9th place.

Abdul Wahab Hannan of Legon Cities FC was adjudged the NASCO man of the match.
