Kwadwo Amoako scored from the spot to give Medeama SC a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold stars in the outstanding Premier League game at Akoon Park on Tuesday.

The game was Medeama SC’s first game in the Premier League since their 1-0 win over Nsoatreman FC following their participation in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. The Champions who lost 3-0 to Young Africans of Tanzania in Dar es Salam last week needed the points to stake a claim for their title defence.

Kamaradini Mamudu returned from suspension to start for the champions, while, new signing Michael Enu made his debut, having signed from Bibiani Gold Stars.

Defender Kwadwo Amoako scored from the spot in the 71st minute to give the Tarkwa lads the points after a barren first half.

The win takes Medeama SC to the 10th position in 12 Premier League games with four games in hand, while Bibiani Gold Stars stay in 14th place with 15 points.

Medeama SC will travel to Tamale to take on Karela United, while, Gold Stars host Legon Cities at Bibiani on Matchday 17.
