Kwabre East and Tafo Municipal delivered dominant performances in the ongoing Ashanti Regional Inter-District Colts Festival, recording big wins to book their spots in the semi-finals of the youth football showcase.

In the first round of matches, Kwabre East made a strong statement with a convincing 4-1 win over Atwima Kwanwoma District, showcasing attacking flair and tactical discipline. Tafo Municipal, another standout side, sealed their semi-final place with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Amansie Municipal in the second round, underlining their intent to go all the way.

Other results from the first round saw Kwadaso Municipal edge Kumasi Metro 2-1 in a keenly contested fixture, while Asante Akim District narrowly beat Atwima Nwabiagya 2-1 to progress. In a dramatic encounter, Amansie Municipal and Bosomtwe District played out a 1-1 draw, with Amansie triumphing 5-4 on penalties to advance.

The second round continued with more intense action. Kwabre East maintained their fine form by beating Ejisu Juaben District 1-0 to secure a semi-final berth. Asante Akim District also moved on with another solid 1-0 win, this time over Obuasi Municipal.

The semi-finals are set to take place today at the Alignment Astroturf in Sofoline, with Kwabre East, Tafo Municipal, Asante Akim, and one more team set to battle it out for a spot in the final. The competition continues to highlight the depth of grassroots talent in the Ashanti Region and the promise of future stars for Ghana football.
