Two matches are on the fixture list on Thursday in the First Capital Plus Premier League as champions, Asante Kotoko turn their sights on the title they won the previous season.

Out and having failed to make an impact in the CAF Champions League, Asante Kotoko will focus on the domestic game to save their season.

The Porcupine Warriors could not go past the preliminary round stage in the continental-club competition following defeat to Liberia's BYC over the weekend, courtesy the away goal rule.

Kotoko will need to keep their title run going when they travel to Tarkwa to play against Medeama in the first of two outstanding league matches.

With a four-point lead at the top, Kotoko will be eager to open the gap at the T&A Park but they will need to overcome their Champions League heartache to stand a chance of winning against the Mauves.

A crisis it is not, however, talk of an investigation into their elimination has the trappings of one, which could undermine Didi Dramani's charge for a successful title defence.

Medeama, boosted by their fine form in their continental debut in the CAF Confederation Cup, will be eager to maintain their run when they take on Kotoko.

In another outstanding fixture, Ebusua Dwarfs, second from bottom will be hoping to play themselves out of the relegation zone when they host New Edubiase at the Robert Mensah Stadium.

Dwarfs, who are also involved in continental football could use their progress in the Confederation Cup as a boost to improve their form.
