Asante Kotoko risk an early elimination in the Caf Champions League after losing 2-0 to ASC Linguère Saint Louis in the preliminary first qualifying round tie on Saturday.

The Porcupine Warriors, who are struggling to mount a descent challenge for the domestic title conceded two goals in the second half and finished the first leg game in Senegal with ten men.

Striker Baffour Gyan was shown the red card after picking up two yellow cards as Kotoko now need to overturn the deficit in the return game in two weeks' time at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra as they continue to serve a home ban in Kumasi imposed by Caf.

Kotoko, who finished second in the previous domestic campaign, are Ghana's sole participants in the continents elite club competition following the withdrawal of champions, Hearts of Oak.
