Richard Kingson is relishing a new lease of life after finally getting games for Blackpool in the English Premiership.

The Ghanaian goalkeeper, a regular with the senior national team, the Black Stars over the past four years has struggled to match his successful international career at club level where he has failed to command a regular starting place.

However after three straight games for Blackpool and with first choice goalkeeper Matt Gilks injured, Kingson is expected to bag more playing time for the newcomers.

After an assured performance for Blackpool in their 2-1 win over Wolves last Saturday, Kingson is delighted his long spells on the bench is over even if temporarily.

“As a goalkeeper or a player, if you get more playing time, you feel more comfortable or you improve yourself,” Kingson told Joy FM.

“It’s has been a difficult time for me but so far as I know what’s football, I’m okay with that. When your time never comes, you can’t write yourself out but if you believe in yourself you know that one day your time will come and when your time comes, you grab it and use it well,” he added.
