Hearts of Oak spurned an opportunity to go level with leaders Asante Kotoko as they could only draw in their match-day-7 fixture whiles their rivals lost on Sunday.

The Phobians were held to a 1-1 draw in Kpando by Heart of Lions and that did little to help their cause as Kotoko slumped to a shocking 1-0 loss to Bechem.

A two-point gap still separates Hearts of Oak from the top going into match-day-8.

The Phobians drew first blood at Kpando when Emmanuel Hayford scored the opener which was his fourth goal of the season.

But the visitors were pegged back when Tanko Mohammed equalised for Lions as the two sides shared the spoils.
