Heart of Lions continued their blistering start to the 2025/26 Premier League season with a commanding 4–1 victory over top-flight returnees Eleven Wonders at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema New Town on Saturday, September 20.
The visitors struck early and in quick succession. Paul Attah Agyei broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, calmly finishing a flowing move, and barely a minute later Chauncy Freeman doubled the advantage with a fine strike that left the home defence stunned.
Eleven Wonders found a glimmer of hope when Ebenezer Abban inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, briefly narrowing the deficit. Yet any prospect of a comeback faded as Lions reasserted their control in the closing stages. Ishmael Addo restored the two-goal cushion with a composed finish in the 86th minute, before Macaulley Kojo Kume capped the performance with a well-taken fourth deep into stoppage time.
Heart of Lions' Etse Dogli was deservedly named Man of the Match.
With two wins from two outings, Heart of Lions climb to second place on the league table and look poised to mount an early challenge at the summit, while Eleven Wonders will need a swift response to recover from this sobering home defeat.
Elsewhere, Hohoe United’s historic first Premier League match at the Hohoe Sports Stadium ended in a spirited 1–1 draw with Young Apostles on Saturday, as both teams settled for a share of the spoils in an evenly balanced contest.
