Ghana's Deputy Head of Mission to Morocco, Madam Janet Abugre, has visited the Black Maidens camp to inspire the team ahead of their decisive FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Group B clash against Canada.
Madam Abugre, who was accompanied by the Head of Chancery, Ms. Ivy Suglo and Head of Consular Affairs, Mr. Alfred Hammond, met with the players and technical team to deliver a message of encouragement and national support.
Addressing the team, she reminded the players that they carry the hopes of the entire nation and urged them to approach the game with unity and collective spirit.
"It is not an individual play but a collective game," she stated. "They carry the entire nation."
She encouraged the Maidens to see the tournament as a major stage and to go all out for victory, assuring them of the full backing of the Embassy and the people of Ghana.
"I encourage them to win," she added, while confirming she will be present at the stadium to cheer the team on in person.
The visit comes at a crucial moment for the Black Maidens, who need a win against Canada on Saturday, October 24, at 3:00pm GMT to keep their qualification hopes alive.
The players and technical team expressed gratitude to the diplomatic delegation, noting that the support serves as a significant psychological boost ahead of the must-win encounter.
