Two of Ghana’s group opponents at the African Cup of Nations picked up wins as preparations for the competition entered the final stages for all participating teams.

Morocco and Guinea recorded wins against fellow CAN 2008 finalist, Zambia and Sudan over the weekend when Ghana, the seeded team in Group A, stumbled with a defeat to Dubai side, Al-Shabbab on Saturday.

Ghana’s opening game opponents, Guinea, were the biggest winners with a 6-0 thrashing of Sudan in a warm-up game.

Goals from Souleymane Youla, who hit four goals with the rest from striker Ismael Bangoura and midfielder Victor Correa handed Robert Nouzaret's side the win.

And Morocco, another group opponent of Ghana began their countdown to the African Nations Cup in Ghana with a 2-0 win over Zambia on Saturday.

The Atlas Lions finished off the game within 10 minutes into the second half with goals from Tarik Sektioui and Soufiane Alloudi.

Morocco would play their final warm-up game on Wednesday in Rabat where they face another qualifier, Angola before departing for Ghana.
