A fiercely-fought game is expected as Ghana and South Africa battle for the sole place in the finals of the African Youth Championship.

Ghana is a game away from reaching their fourth finals of the Championship as the Black Satellites need to beat South Africa to get closer to winning the title.

The Black Satellites, two-time winners in 1993 and 1999 are hopeful of reaching the finals again after last making it 2001.

Though Ghana earns a place for the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt in September by reaching the semi-finals, Sellas Tetteh, coach of the Black Satellites has now set his sights on guiding the team to claim the title.

A final dream would be fulfilled by beating the Amajita at the Amahoro stadium on Wednesday in one of the semi-final matches of the African Youth Championship in Rwanda as Cameroon take on Nigeria in the other game.

"Winning a ticket to feature in the Fifa U-20 World Cup will motivate my players to yearn for more success in the semi-final of this championship.

"We have played good football in the group stage and I hope to maintain the momentum going in the semi-final," Sellas Tetteh said as he prepared his team for the game against the Amajita.

South Africa have played attractive football and Sellas’ opposite man on the South African bench, Serame Letsoaka, says he expects a difficult match.

“Playing against Ghana, we would not change our style. It’s going to be even more difficult. We would not change the way we are doing things.

“This is how we play and feel comfortable. It will be quick inter-passing play as usual,” Serame Letsoaka said after getting his team in the last four.

But Sellas Tetteh believes his side has shown characteristics of a championship winning side.

"I have a team which is patient and disciplined and they have to maintain this attitude if we are to lift the title.

"We will come up against any team - South Africa - in the semi-finals with a lot of confidence and belief."

Ghana last won the Africa Youth Championship in 1999 on home soil and triumphed at the 1993 edition in Mauritius.
