The Football Association has released the first tranche of its annual GH¢120,000 financial support package to all 48 clubs participating in the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) Division One League, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the financial stability and operational capacity of clubs across the competition.

The disbursement, made possible through the GFA’s sponsorship partnership with Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), forms part of the GFA's broader efforts to ease the financial pressures confronting clubs and provide meaningful assistance towards their administrative and operational responsibilities throughout the season.

Under the annual support arrangement, each of the 48 participating clubs is entitled to GH¢120,000, providing a structured financial lifeline to help them manage essential expenses, improve their administrative operations and create a more sustainable environment for football development.

The financial intervention is expected to ease some of the clubs’ financial obligations, particularly in meeting routine operational costs and managing the demands of a competitive league that requires significant investment in player welfare, logistics and administration.

Beyond the direct financial assistance, the GFA has also reaffirmed its commitment to absorbing key match-day expenses for the Division One League. These include the fees of referees, Match Commissioners, venue media officers and cameramen, ensuring that clubs receive additional relief from the financial responsibilities associated with organising league fixtures.

Through its partnership with Universal Merchant Bank, the Football Association continues to pursue practical interventions aimed at creating a more financially sustainable competition while supporting the growth and development of football at the second tier of Ghana's domestic league structure.
