The Ghana Football Association (GFA) faced defending champions Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in Week 5 of the 2026 University of Ghana Corporate Football League, producing a pulsating 1–1 draw.
Coming into the match on the back of two consecutive victories, the GFA team showed determination against a well-organized GCAA side.
The first half saw GCAA enjoy slightly more possession, launching several dangerous incursions into the GFA half. However, the GFA’s defensive set-up proved resilient and difficult to break down. In the 15th minute, GFA goalkeeper Nathan Marcells produced a brilliant save from a powerful long-range effort to keep the score level.
The second half began with a tactical change from GFA, as John Paintsil came on to replace Foster. Just three minutes into the half, GFA came close to taking the lead when a free kick from defender Christian Ainoo crashed against the crossbar, letting the reigning champions off the hook.
GCAA made their first substitution in the 5th minute of the second half, introducing number 18. Two minutes later, GFA squandered a gilt-edged opportunity when Eric Donkor narrowly missed a chance to put his side ahead.
GCAA continued to adjust their lineup, bringing on number 8 for number 9 in the 9th minute. The change appeared to inject fresh energy into their attack, and in the 10th minute of the second half, GCAA broke the deadlock with the opening goal.
The champions made a third substitution shortly afterwards, introducing number 12, as the match intensified. In the 15th minute of the half, GCAA’s number 7 was shown a yellow card.
GFA kept pushing for an equalizer, and their persistence paid off when Tetteh Zutah found the back of the net to bring the game level, bringing his tally in the tournament to an impressive four goals.
Shortly after scoring, Zutah was replaced by Gideon in the 18th minute as GFA looked to maintain momentum.
Despite late pressure from both sides, neither team could find a winner, and the match ended 1–1, concluding an entertaining and fiercely contested encounter.
Coaching duo, Andy Eshun and Tophic Kadir Sienu continue leading the team on its impressive run.
