The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed the Association's appreciation to Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited for its support to the 2026 Elite U15 Girls Championship, a key competition designed to strengthen the development pathway for young female footballers in Ghana.

The support comes as the GFA continues to expand its investment in grassroots women's football through structured development programmes, including the FIFA supported U15 Girls Regional Colts League, which is being implemented across all football regions in the country.

The Elite U15 Girls Championship will bring together talented young girls from the GFA Academies and regional development structures, providing a platform for talent identification, technical growth, education, safeguarding, and long-term player development.

The Ghana Football Association described the support as a significant contribution to the future of women's football in Ghana.

"The development of girls football requires collective investment and long-term commitment from all stakeholders. Support from institutions such as Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited plays an important role in helping us create opportunities and structured pathways for young girls to develop through football," the General Secretary stated.

The GFA remains committed to strengthening grassroots football and creating clear pathways for young players to progress into elite academies, Women's League clubs, and the national teams.

The Association also recognizes the growing role of corporate institutions in advancing women's and youth sports development, noting that investment in girls football continues to create opportunities for empowerment, leadership, and social inclusion.

The Ghana Football Association expresses its sincere appreciation to Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited for supporting the 2026 Elite U15 Girls Championship and contributing to the development of the next generation of Ghanaian female footballers.
