GFA cruise to commanding 4-1 victory over GIMPA

GFA delivered a commanding performance to secure a 4-1 victory over GIMPA, in a game defined by early dominance, brief resistance, and clinical finishing.

GFA made a strong and assertive start, controlling the early exchanges and dictating the tempo. Their bright opening paid off in the 6th minute, when Augustus Quaye calmly slotted home to give GFA a deserved lead.

GIMPA nearly responded immediately, missing a glorious opportunity in the 9th minute, but that moment sparked a resurgence as they began to apply pressure on the GFA defense. GFA, however, remained dangerous going forward.

In the 12th minute, Eric Donkor unleashed a powerful effort that forced a fine save from the GIMPA goalkeeper. Moments later, GIMPA capitalized on their growing momentum, finding the equalizer in the 12th minute to bring the game level at 1-1.

GFA responded with intent and quality. In the 18th minute, Eric Donkor produced a moment of brilliance, firing a thunderous strike into the net, undoubtedly a goal-of-the-season contender, to restore GFA’s lead. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of GFA after an entertaining and competitive opening period.

The second half began with an early opportunity for GFA, as John Paintsil stepped up for a free kick in the 2nd minute of the half but failed to convert. In the 5th minute of the half, Philip Aseweh extended the lead to 3-1, finishing well to give GFA breathing space.

The dominance continued, and in the 12th minute of the half, Eric Donkor struck again to make it 4-1, sealing an emphatic performance with his second goal of the game.

GFA maintained control for the remainder of the match, managing the game effectively and limiting GIMPA’s attacking threats.

At full time, it ended 4-1 in favour of GFA, a comprehensive victory that highlighted GFA’s attacking quality, resilience, and ability to respond decisively at key moments.
