The opening matches of the Elite U-15 Girls Championship kicked off at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre, with 12 teams reporting for the prestigious tournament. In a Group A opener, Northern Region faced off against Eastern Elite B and delivered a 4-0 victory.
The Northern side set the pace early, with Alidu Rashida breaking the deadlock just 10 minutes into the match, courtesy of an assist from Alhassan Fuseina. The pressure continued, and a second goal followed in the 29th minute. Northern Region didn't let up in the second half, with Alhassan Fuseina and Yussif Ayisha each finding the net to seal a comprehensive 4-0 win, getting their campaign off to a perfect start.
Upper East, on the other hand, secured a decisive 1-0 victory over a determined Volta Region team. The match's defining moment arrived in the first half, when a swift counterattack culminated in a clinical finish and a priceless early goal.
In the other Group B action, Elite Academy, Bolga also fell to a 3-0 defeat against Eastern Region. The victory was sealed by a commanding offensive display, with Kpentey Belinda opening the scoring, followed by a second-half strike from Enyonam Ayikpoe before Anima Jessica put the result beyond doubt with the final goal.
Group B's final match of the day witnessed Brong Ahafo Region narrowly clinching victory over the Central Region in a 4-3 finish. Central Region fought valiantly, finding the back of the net three times in a determined effort to secure the win, but it was Brong Ahafo who ultimately proved slightly more potent in front of goal, edging ahead with a decisive fourth score to seal a triumph.
