FC Samartex deepen Nsoatreman woes, Berekum Chelsea pip Aduana FC

Leaders FC Samartex 1996 scored two first half goals to beat Nsoatreman FC 2-0 on Matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League Wednesday– returning to winning ways after two consecutive defeats.

Winger Evans Osei Wusu scored the opener inside 15 minutes before skipper; Emmanuel Keyekeh added the second goal in the 32nd minute to condemn Nsoatreman FC to their third loss on the spin.

FC Samartex went into the game looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats to Nations FC (1-0) at home and Bechem United (1-0) on the road. The Timber giants dominated the game from the off to deny Nsoatreman any chance of a comeback.

The Sameraboi lads have now opened a five-point gap atop of the table following second-placed Aduana FC’s loss to Berekum Chelsea at Golden City Park. Nsoatreman are now 6th in the league after three successive defeats to Accra Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC and able FC Samartex.

Elsewhere in Berekum – Chelsea pip Aduana FC 1-0 at the Golden City to get new coach Samuel Boadu off to a good start.

Former Medeama SC and Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu was in the dugout for the first time since his appointment. Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona who made a return to the starting lineup converted a penalty in the 21st minute to give his side all the spoils.

The win takes Berekum Chelsea to the third place in the league standings with 33 points while Aduana FC stays in second place despite the defeat.

Meanwhile Accra Great Olympics drew goalless against Karela United at the WAFA Park at Sogakope.
