FC AshantiGold edge past Police Nationals to reclaim top spot in Zone Two

Former Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs slipped from first to second in the Zone Two table after a 2-1 defeat away to Pac Academy at the Mohammed Kamil Arena in Ofinso on Sunday. Amadu Mumuni gave Dwarfs an early lead in the 12th minute, but Charles Fokuo restored parity with a brilliant strike before halftime. In stoppage time, substitute Kelvin Appiah emerged as the hero, slotting home a close-range winner to hand Pac Academy all three points. The loss ended Ebusua Dwarfs’ impressive seven-game unbeaten run (W5, D2) and leaves them three points behind leaders AshantiGold 04.

In Bekwai - FC AshantiGold 04 returned to the summit with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Police National at Gyamfi Park in Bekwai. Richmond Fosu converted a 70th minute penalty to secure the win after a goalless first half. AshantiGold 04 now lead the Zone Two table with 40 points from 20 matches.

Sefwi All Stars FC suffered a setback in their title challenge, falling 1-0 to relegation-threatened UCC-Youngsters at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Annan Kwei converted a 69th-minute penalty to earn a vital win for UCC-Youngsters.
