FC AshantiGold '04 extend unbeaten run, Nsuopun Fidelity stun New Edubiase in Zone Two of Access Bank Division One League

Top-of-the-table FC AshantiGold '04 continued their impressive start to the season, extending their unbeaten run to five consecutive games without conceding a goal, after securing a commanding 3-0 victory over struggling Police Nationals at the Tuba AstroTurf on Saturday.

Gideon Eshun opened the scoring for the visitors just three minutes after kickoff, before Raphael Ankamah doubled the lead with a magnificent header in the 72nd minute. Substitute Shadrack Kofi sealed the victory for AshantiGold '04 in stoppage time. The Miners have now accumulated 13 points, having scored 8 goals and conceded none in the league this campaign.

Elsewhere, former Premier League side New Edubiase United dropped points for the third successive game after suffering a 2-1 home defeat to newly promoted Nsuopun Fidelity at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

After a goalless first half, Emmanuel Mensah broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 64th minute. Michael Yeboah levelled the score for New Edubiase in the 78th minute, but Samuel Osei Kofi netted the decisive winner for Nsuopun Fidelity in stoppage time.

In Cape Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs ended their four-game winless streak with a much-needed 2-0 victory over PAC Academy at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Seidu Tijani opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before Raphael Gyan sealed the win in stoppage time (94th minute).
