President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi is expected to chair an emergency Executive Committee [Ex-Co] meeting today to discuss Tuesday's raid on its headquarters.

The Economic and Serious Crime Unit formerly the Serious Fraud Office having secured a court order carried out a raid and confiscated computers and documents.

Tuesday's raid was preceded by the blocking of the GFA office by the plain-clothed officers, preventing any entry or exit and also the seizure of cellular phones of some members of staff which it was later released.

Spokesperson of the FA Randy Abbey says the Executive Committee will deliberate on the matter and communicate the sport body's position afterwards.

"I believe that this is clearly an affront to the rule of law and without respect for good corporate governance," Abbey said.

"They had a search warrant to search and retrieve documents and they decided that they would take the PCs [Central Processing Units] and documents.

"The board is meeting, the Executive Committee and after the meeting the position of the FA would be communicated."

The seizure of the office equipments and documents has stalled all administrative functions of the Ghana Football Association.

The Economic and Organised Crime Unit in a letter two months ago [October] requested within 48 hours for all contracts signed by the Ghana Football Association with some sponsors.

A reply [October 14] for an extension sought by the GFA to produce their requests has until this moment not been responded to.

However, there's a pending court suit filed against the state-body over their remit in the issue in question.
