The Confédération of African Football (CAF) has announced the draw procedure for the final tournament of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Egypt 2026.

Eight clubs have qualified for the final tournament to be held in Egypt, with the draw set to split them into two groups of four teams. The first and second-placed teams in each group will qualify for the knockout stage, which consists of the semi-finals, third-place match and the final.

Qualified teams:

  • Host: FC Masar (EGY)
  • Title Holder: AS FAR (MAR)
  • UNAF: FUS Rabat (MAR)
  • WAFU A: USFAS Bamako (MLI)
  • WAFU B: AMPEM Darkoa (GHA) or Edo Queens (NGA)
  • UNIFFAC: Lékié Football Girls (CMR)
  • COSAFA: Mamelodi Sundowns (RSA)
  • CECAFA: Kawempe Muslim Ladies (UGA)

For the draw, FC Masar as host will be placed in position A1 and title holders AS FAR will be placed in position B1.

CAF has created two levels based on performance over the last three editions. Pot 1 (Level I) will include Mamelodi Sundowns and USFAS Bamako as the best ranked clubs, while Pot 2 (Level II) will include the remaining four clubs - Kawempe Muslim Ladies, Lékié Football Girls, FUS Rabat and the WAFU B representative.

Pot A will include positions A2, A3, A4 and Pot B will include positions B2, B3, B4.

Draw procedure:

The draw will start with Pot 1. The first team drawn from Pot 1 will go to Group A with its specific position determined by a ball drawn from Pot A, while the second team drawn from Pot 1 will go to Group B with its position determined by a ball drawn from Pot B.

For Pot 2, to avoid having two clubs from the same country - Morocco already has AS FAR in Group B - the ball for FUS Rabat will be of a different colour and will be drawn first, with its position automatically determined from Pot A. This ensures FUS Rabat does not fall in the same group as AS FAR.

The second ball drawn from Pot 2 will go to Group B, with its position determined by a ball drawn from Pot B. The same process will be repeated until all teams are assigned to the two groups.

The WAFU B slot will be decided between Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Nigeria's Edo Queens.
