Debibi United edge Berekum Arsenal in Zone One B as Tamale City maintain top spot in Zone One A with victory over Yapei FC
Zone One B leaders Debibi United FC continued their impressive league run with a hard-fought 2–1 away victory over former Premier League side Berekum Arsenal at the Golden City Park over the weekend. Kwadwo Antwi opened the scoring for Debibi United just six minutes after kickoff, before Clement Nketiah doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Evans Ankamah pulled one back for Berekum Arsenal in the dying moments of the game, but it proved too late to deny the visitors maximum points. Debibi United FC have now amassed an impressive 44 points from 18 matches and sit on top of the table.
Meanwhile, former Premier League side Real Tamale United battled back to secure a vital point in a crucial 1–1 draw away to Bolga All Stars FC at Winkogo. After a goalless first half, Rashid Yakubu broke the deadlock in the 71st minute with a stunning strike for the hosts. Samuel Lamptey responded late on with a fine 88th-minute finish to level matters for Real Tamale United. RTU remain second in the Zone One A table with 33 points from 18 matches.
Elsewhere, Zone One A leaders Tamale City FC came from behind to secure a dramatic 2–1 victory over newly promoted Yapei FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. The win ensured Tamale City FC remain the only unbeaten side across all three zones after Matchweek 18. Abedi Karim handed Yapei FC an early lead in the 11th minute, but Donatus Akolibila equalised just two minutes later for the hosts. Mohammed Musah Salifu sealed the comeback with the winning goal in the 54th minute. The Citizens are unbeaten in 18 League matches and leads the table in Zone One A with 40 points.
