Berekum Chelsea put their African Champions League worries aside to get their league campaign off to a 2-0 home win against Heart of Lions.

Despite missing a first half penalty when captain Abdul Basit after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way shot wide off the post, the former Ghanaian champions sounded their intent when they grabbed two second half goals at the Golden City Park.

Goals by Salifu Latif and Abdul Wahab handed Chelsea a comfortable win in their first game of the season.

Chelsea are sitting top after match-day-1 of the competition by a better goal advantage.
