Black Stars hold first training in Accra ahead of Chad and Mali 2026 World Cup qualifiers

The Black Stars trained at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday ahead of the two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali. The team will hold another training in Accra on Tuesday morning before flying to N'Djamena.

The Monday training session included players such as Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Osman, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Jerry Afriyie, Joseph Anang, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Jordan Ayew, and Gideon Mensah. The rest of the squad is expected to arrive on Monday night, with winger Joseph Paintsil set to join the team on Tuesday morning.

Ghana will face Chad on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025. Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points from six matches, keeping the team well-placed for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
