The Black Stars recorded a 3-0 win over Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko in a friendly match played in Kumasi on Friday.

Abdul Majeed Waris got the opener for the senior national team in the 21st minute before Emmanuel Boateng increased the tally two minutes into the second half. Christian Atsu then added the third goal in the 54th minute to take the game beyond the porcupine warriors.

The Black Stars were the dominant side throughout the game though Asante Kotoko forwards Songne Yacouba and Obed Owusu could have capitalized on their few scoring opportunities to get Kotoko back into the game.

Christian Atsu, Jonathan Mensah and Afriyie Acquah were the only players who retained their places in the second half after coach Kwesi Appiah changed the team that played in the first half.

The friendly match was organized after Ghana’s 2019 AFCON qualifying match against Sierra Leone was cancelled after FIFA suspended the West African country last week.
